First successful catch today!!!

Well, today Kit was victorious!! She caught her first rabbit. I was not even out of my truck for five minutes when she launched off my fist and caught her first cotton tail!! I was so excited to see all the hard work and training come together.

Kit chased!!

I took Kit out for her fourth free fly and I flushed a jack rabbit. Kit burned it down and ALMOST had it!! Then that little jack braked and Kit over shot and the jack got away! Another fun display of two animals using what nature gave them to survive and that day, the jack won.

Update about me

Well, I have my general falconry license now.  My Harrris Hawk, Kit, is doing well.  She should be out hawking in the next week or two.  She is chasing dragger jack rabbits right now and doing well.  I made her a Facebook web site so check her site out.  I’ll be putting more content on it soon.  John and I helped our friend Dick Benoit from LAs Vegas get a redtail.  His bird is doing great.  More news later….

Summer still…..

Well, still summer. I will be modifying my weathering area and mew. I have some new ideas to make it more functional and easier to keep warm or cold as the case may be.

Woohoo!! Got the State limits changed!!

Well,
After almost a year of work, I got the quotas changed in Nevada for falconry and upland game. The new limit is now 2per day and 8 in possession. They also upped the Sage Grouse to 2 and 4. By the way ALL upland game species are aggregate so its a total for all upland game, not per species!!
